These meetings are open to all interested in Main Street Reisterstown with a focus is on Main Street business and property owners. Each meeting discusses issues that affect Main Street businesses and we want to hear your concerns, opinions and solutions. Please join us and help affect positive change along Main Street!
October Speaker - Delegate Ben Brooks, District 10.
September Speaker - Josephine Selvakumar, Planner for Community Planning and Bill Skibinski, our Western Sector Planner, with Baltimore County's Office of Planning. They will address the Building Improvement Loan Program (BILP) with which Baltimore County offers $30,000 zero-interest loans for improvements to building facades and exteriors, but few know it exists.
June Speaker - Jeff Mayhew, Director of Baltimore County Planning Department, will discuss how the Planning Department is helping restore historic Main Streets throughout the county. In particular, we will ask him to discuss helpful zoning and code changes that make it easier for business and property owners to fill and restore vacant historic buildings. He will also discuss the upcoming Comprehensive Zoning Map Process (CZMP).
May Speakers - Speaker of the House Adrienne Jones and Delegate Ben Brooks let us know about the legislation in this year's session that may affect us and how the state can help our town. Come with your questions ready.
April Speakers - we'll hear from Sara Trenery and Stanley Jacobs from Baltimore County's Department of Economic and Workforce Development. They will talk about the Department's services and their programs to help/grow businesses. Sara covers the Central Business area and Stan is the Chief Finance Officer who deals with Lending and Loan Programs.
March Speaker - we'll hear from Izzy Patoka, our 2nd District Baltimore County Councilman.
February Speaker - we'll hear from Matt Mittenthal, a representative of Greenberg Gibbons who hare the owners and developers of Reisterstown Shopping Center. He will discuss the shopping center, prospects for growth in Reisterstown, and how economic trends may affect development in the wider area.
January Speaker - we'll hear from Officer Rod Willis, our local Baltimore County Police Department representative. He will discuss safety issues on Main Street and how our police officers will partner with us.
